چکیده

We investigate unbounded continuous spin-systems with infinite-range interactions. We develop a new technique for deducing decay of correlations from a uniform Poincaré inequality based on a directional Poincaré inequality, which we derive through an averaging procedure. We show that this decay of correlations is equivalent to the Dobrushin-Shlosman mixing condition. With this, we also state and provide a partial answer to a conjecture regarding the relationship between the relaxation rates of nonferromagnetic and ferromagnetic systems. Finally, we show that for a symmetric, ferromagnetic system with zero boundary conditions, a weaker decay of correlations can be bootstrapped.

Spin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake embedded between two armchair nanoribbons electrodes

We study the coherent spin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake (ZGF), using Hubbard model in the nearest neighbor approximation within the framework of the Green function’s technique and Landauer formalism. The system considered consists of electrode/ (ZGF)/electrode, in which the electrodes are chosen to be armchair nanoribbons. The study was performed for two types of ele...

Prediction of Vapor-Liquid Equilibria Using CEOS /GE Models

The present study investigates the use of different GE mixing rules in cubic equations of state for prediction of phase behavior of multicomponent hydrocarbon systems. To predict VLE data in multicomponent symmetric and asymmetric mixtures such as systems that contain light gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) and heavy hydrocarbons, the SRK equation of state has been combined with excess Gib...

VLE Predictions of Strongly Non-Ideal Binary Mixtures by Modifying Van Der Waals and Orbey-Sandler Mixing Rules

By proposing a predictive method with no adjustable parameter and by using infinite dilution activity coefficients of components in binary mixtures obtained from UNIFAC model, the binary interaction parameters (k12) in van der Waals mixing rule (vdWMR) and Orbey-Sandler mixing rule (OSMR) have been evaluated. The predicted binary interaction parameters are used in Peng-Robinson-S...

Application of the Genetic Algorithm to Calculate the Interaction Parameters for Multiphase and Multicomponent Systems

A method based on the Genetic Algorithm (GA) was developed to study the phase behavior of multicomponent and multiphase systems. Upon application of the GA to the thermodynamic models which are commonly used to study the VLE, VLLE and LLE phase equilibria, the physically meaningful values for the Binary Interaction Parameters (BIP) of the models were obtained. Using the method proposed in t...

Interaction of atomic hydrogen with monometallic Au(100), Cu(100), Pt(100) surfaces and surface of bimetallic Au@Cu(100), Au@Pt(100) overlayer systems: The role of magnetism

The spin-polarized calculations in generalized gradient approximation density–functional theory (GGA–DFT) have been used to show how the existence of second metals can modify the atomic hydrogen adsorption on Au (100), Cu (100), and Pt (100) surfaces. The computed adsorption energies for the atomic hydrogen adsorbed at the surface coverage of 0.125 ML (monolayer) for the monometallic Au (100), ...
